So far no updates. It's raining outside for the 2nd day in a row. They expect the rain will end by Friday. I figured that while I wait for the thing to sneak up on me again, I'll mention a haunted cemetery we're going to. It's called Smyrna Cemetery and is located in Felicity Oh. There have been so many reportings there, that even certain government affiliations have tried to understand what's going on.

Apparently, there was a Shawnee Indian tribe that once lived here in Clermont County. From what I understand, this was the civil war era. Anyway, 'we' were trying to run them out to take over the land. The Shawnee had captured one of us and held the guy as a prisoner. Just as we have a leader, the President, they did as well; except theirs was a woman. The Shawnee had planned to kill the prisoner, but the woman had fallen in love with him. The prisoner promised that, if she help him escape, he would return for her after the war.

She did in fact help the man, and he 'got away'. Eventually, the Shawnee had reached an agreement with us that they would leave behind a certain amount of land. As peace was coming, the man returned for the Shawnee leader. When the other Indians found out what was going on, they banished the man, and ended up putting their female leader to death. She is buried, according to the Clermont Historian, in the Smyrna graveyard. But that's not the whole story.

In the last 100 years or so, there have been several hundred reported sightings of a female Indian wandering the graveyard. And what's even MORE bizarre is this one particular unmarked headstone... It always glows.

The caretakers claim that it is *very* haunted. A crew had been called out to find out if there's any scientific reason that the one headstone glows. Their findings revealed the stone was just standard 'rock', and had no other properties; they don't know why it glows. And, if I'm not mistaken, the University of Cincinnati has been involved in the testing as well.

So, I'm going to go see if I can see this Indian AND the glowing headstone. You won't find much information about Smyrna on the Internet, but there are several books regarding Clermont County history that talk about it, as well as the massive claims of hauntings there.

Below is a map to Smyrna if your interested, but don't go alone. It's on a dead end road with no lights or anything. Spooky. Beth, this is right up your alley! Have you been there? Any particular things you want me to photograph?

I'll keep you posted. If I have anything more to write about tonight, I'll create another document and link this to it. Here is the map to Smyrna. I'll put the date in the calendar. Bryan, would you go if you ever got the chance?

In regards to your blog on the Smyrna Cemetery, I spent my entire life with that cemetery in my back yard! I now live in Florida but my fathers house still remains on the edge of the east border. Any additional comments please email me, I'd love to hear what you saw and heard on your visit!
