I was going to post this last night, but life had other plans. I received an interesting call yesterday, a call of somewhat distress from my wife. She had arrived home from a short trip out, and was playing with the dog in the family room. The dog started whimpering and hung his head down, as if he was in trouble. He proceeded to back away from the room. At the same time, my wife heard the back door’s doorknob ‘jiggling’. All at once, that rear had slammed opened with enough force to leave a mark on the adjacent wall. My wife said it sounded as if it was kicked open. She and the dog sat real still and listened for intruders. The dog didn’t make a sound.

No sounds were heard, so she went over and checked some rooms. After seeing nothing, she looked outside for signs of forced entry. There were no footprints in the muddy area outside, and no people anywhere. Although the door had opened on its own, it was still locked. When she tried to call me, the phones were acting up. She said it sounded like someone was using the other phone, so she walked into another room to see if it was left off the hook. She arrived to find it lying in its cradle, so she picked it up to try and call me. She claims that she then felt something brushing through her hair; like fingers. She ran from the room and called me. She claimed that “this one” was NOT one of the regulars. Without thinking, I told her to grab the compass and see what happened. That turned out to be a not-so-good idea, as she was fit to be tied anyway. Experimenting with this was not something I should have mentioned. She told me so...

Not even 30 minutes later, I received another call from her. She was more relaxed during this call. Quiet calm actually, considering what she stumbled in to. She told me she called to have me “guess” what the dog was doing. Promptly, I said, “I give.” She said the dog, the dog that’s SOOOOOOOO scared of the ‘thing’, was in the family room playing with it. I told her to tell me exactly what he was doing. She stated the dog was running in circles, staring at the center of air that he was running around. His tail was wagging, and he turned over on his back like he usually does when he’s playing. Although I didn’t mention it at the time, I was starting to think that maybe the dog was just playing, and that there may not have been anything there at all. You know, like maybe her mind was assuming something was going on because of the events a half hour earlier. She told me something that I would never have thought of though, and it startled me. She said the dog was “licking” the air; giving out his little puppy kisses to something that could not be seen.

If a puppy is happy when he’s playing, and a persons the one playing with him, the first thing the puppy will do is start licking you to death. That’s what he was doing; he was playing with something or someone, and licking with his tongue.

So, what we know here is that something forceful entered, and even spooked the dog. But later, the dog was happy with it? That doesn’t make sense. It’s hard telling what happened. Maybe a good ghost, our resident, ran out a bad one? Maybe the whole thing is yet another coincidence in our dramatic life. Skeptics would claim the wind blew open the door (even though it would require a tornado), electrical signals disturbed the phones, a bug flew into her hair, and the dog was playing, and fell in love with, a mosquito. Yea, that’s more probable than a ghost...

three letters: WOW! Very spookie!!! If I was your wife I would've taken the dog, grabbed some food, grabbed my cell, gotten into the car, and driven (actually speeded) away to the next city!! Man, you guys are reeally brave to be doin this. Keep up the good work and be extremely careful because those "things" are unpredictable!!

:? I think that you had some sort of strange or negitive spirit that blew open the door and touched your wife's hair.
Why else would the dog be scared.
I think perhasp one of your regular spirits chased the other out.
That is the only explaination I can have for your dog's behaviour.

What happened with the updates? I understand that you have a real life outside of this ghost thing, but please don't abandon your web page altogether.

i have a terrier mix about the same size as your's. she's very smart and very observant of her surroundings. she gets spooked at times "for no reason" that we can see but it's like i always say dogs don't do that for no reason. i've been around dogs my whole life that were used for hunting, sorry peta people! hunting sometimes helps keep people fed. it's a fact of life. anyway, the dog knows what's going on. their hearing is more sensitive than ours. look at what animals do before an earthquake.

take care and i also will be praying for you and your's.

thanks,

the dog on it's back like that is a sign of submission and it's something a family pet will do with a family member it listens to.

now, phones, electronic equipment, cell phones, electrical appliances all seem to act up whenever there's a spirit around. the human spirit after all is electrical. our's in encased in a physical body. their's is out of the physical body and so can affect electrical things much more than we. now, my husband and i, if we're having an off feeling day, like things aren't in rhythm, we have all sorts of problems with electrical things. we can pass by a cash register that has worked fine for the person til we came up to it. you can sometimes see a domino effect down the line of registers near the first one. when i'm this way we've found i can't hold a compass without it spinning. just some observations over the years. both of us have abilities we wouldn't call normal.

don't remember if i left a note to this here or not but one time when i was being put through a ct scan i prayed to calm my nerves during the test. they said my whole brain lit up on the screens and the machine began going haywire. nothing was wrong when they checked it. others were put through it without anything strange happening. three days later they repeated this test. first they asked me what i'd done and had me recreate it. somehow i think the iodized iodine they put into my veins helped the effect or i'd just lost most of my fear of the whole thing by then. however, the machine still showed increased activity in parts of my brain not generally used by humans. they had me pray for someone i knew who was desparately ill and i did so. the machine began going haywire again when i did this. they were all astounded and i was tired, lol. i didn't know what to make of it except that prayers worked. i'd always believed they had so it wasn't something astounding to me. it was to them though.

but it sound's like you have a protective spirit in the house that was possibly trying to warn you that another there was negative and going to cause problems. like when your wife heard someone say "wait". maybe at the time the negative one was in the laundry room. i have had some experiences myself with hearing a radio when there is none to be heard in my parent's house which i have been told by someone who deals with these kind of things is grand central station for the spooklies.i have had many experience in the different places i have lived and only one apt was 'empty' so to speak. the one i have now i have an unseen visitor who turns the t.v on and off.(until i told it, it could play with anything but that), will turn on my lights:touch lamps and wall lights, brings the scent of lavender(i do not own perfume or have any flowers that scent). this happens to me so much that as long it doesn't try anything nasty i'll just pretend i have a "special roommate".
well, back to your experience i have no doubt you had one of the more nastier spirits there and this one your dog likes is guarding the place now.
as the for the females only experiencing this, i have found many women follow thier intuition more and therefore are more sensitive to the enviroment around them. who knows?
i have yet to finish reading the archives but i hope the bad ones are gone now.
