TGIF finally. Lord willing, I’ll be able to get a lot of updates this weekend. I’m going to start building an EMF detector (Electro Magnetic Field), but also try my ghost hunt with a compass. I hear a compass is sensitive to EMF’s. At least, that’s something I read on the Internet. Humm. Here’s one I found on eBay. (Opens a new window)

As for updates, I haven’t any photos:( I was so busy making this site and everything else that goes on around the house, that I was exhausted by the time I was caught up. I do have content though. Here we go...

At about 9:30 last night, I went outside to lock up my vehicle. Before I went back inside, I stood on the porch and looked at the well. I guess I thought I might be able to see the soldier or something else, but I didn’t. My wife came to the door and asked ‘Why did you ring the doorbell?’ I told her I didn’t. Normally a person would say ‘Well, I heard the doorbell’ or ‘something must be wrong with the doorbell’ or even ‘somebody rang the doorbell’. Instead, her response was ‘Oh.’ With the ‘OMG it’s the ghost isn’t it’ look on her face. I went back inside and got back to this website. 30 minutes later, she (my wife) came to me and asked if I had opened the refrigerator. Of course I didn’t, and I think she knew that. I went with her to look at it, and the door to the refrigerator and the freezer was open. Not just open, but WIDE open. I just shook my head and walked away after closing the doors. I told her that maybe she or I did it and didn’t remember. It’s very possible; we can’t blame EVERYTHING that’s non-routine on the ghost.

I should save this for the update of the 1st since it happened today, but I won’t. My wife gets up at 5:30 AM and gets me at 6:30. When she came and got me up, she told me about the dog. I remembered waking up to barking sometime after she gotten up, but I went back to sleep. Anyway, she stated that the dog did his usually bark, whimper, scared suffocating sound as he was looking at nothing. Oddly though, his tail dropped between his legs, ears fell down, and he walked away as if he had just been badly scolded for a misdeed! That poor dog:(

I don’t know what’s going on there, but I can’t have it picking on the dog. Hopefully it will stop. I don’t want to experiment on something that maybe getting angry and taking it out on my dog. I don’t know what to think, if there’s even anything to think about. If it weren’t for the dog’s behavior, this would have all been written off as a series of flukes with life. Maybe ball lightning, maybe big imaginations belonging to my daughter and the girl down the street, etc. In other words, the dog is the only reason I believe there may actually be something to this ghost or spirit that we seem to have.

Back to the doorbell thing, it very well could be a short circuit in the switch. Sure, it’s never acted up before but... No, I didn’t lean on it or anything like that. I was at least 4 feet from it when it ‘went off’.

Also, regarding the ‘girl down the street’. I don’t know if anyone else recalls, or if I posted it, but the girl down the street has the same claims as my daughter. One says she sees one soldier, the other child claims to have seen two of them. However, the location of the soldiers is exactly the same when told by the two girls. As I’ve said, it could be wild imaginations, but I knew something was up when that dog started ...

I’ll try to get a lot of ghost hunting in this weekend. My wife is reading up on the history of the area, so hopefully she’ll get more info as well. BTW, someone suggested I watch a movie called ‘The Others’. I was reminded last night that I did see it, and I do remember it. Very good movie, but I won’t spoil it for the others (no pun intended).

* You don't need to remind me that my camera may be broken, it may have detected a reflection, or that there may be some other reason that these images are askew. There will always be another explanation, no matter what the question may be. I don't say these are ghosts or goblins, spirits or souls; just that the origins of the items in the images are unknown by me.
